WHEN it comes to new developments, there can be few with as much character as Tower View. Centred around a spectacular A Listed Victorian clock tower on the former site of Leverndale Hospital in Crookston, Miller Homes’ Tower View development provides modern homes on a site which dates back to the 1890s. Their new Kingsborough townhouse showhome underlines why this development continues to captivate buyers.
On entering the showhome, a long, galleried hallway with high ceiling and beech effect wooden flooring is indicates the space and flexibility found throughout this excellent family home.
The ground floor provides an integral garage, a bedroom, that could easily be turned in to a study, and a family room with French doors to the garden. This room has been dressed with two soft cream sofas against cool linen walls and a natural, honey coloured wooden floor. Splashes of colour are added through cream, turquoise and brown stripped curtains and matching occasional cushions. The same colours are reflected in two modern art works on the walls.
The second floor provides an exceptionally large lounge with dining area. Viewers will instantly notice the stream of light that floods the L-shaped lounge and dining area due to French doors at either end which open on to Parisian style balconies. An oatmeal coloured corner sofa, with silk, satin and cream fur cushions, is complemented by a matching armchair and footstool, while a brown leather chaise longue offers the ultimate in comfort. A black coffee table contrasts with elegant, modern chrome sculptures. Chrome is also featured in the legs of the six cream leather dining chairs, as well as the legs of the ebony topped dining table.
The thoughtfully designed kitchen, just off the dining room, is convenient without intruding on the living area. The kitchen comes complete with fully fitted rose wood coloured units and granite effect work surfaces. The pewter handles of the cupboards are matched by chrome appliances, which include a Zanussi fridge freezer, oven, hob, cooker hood and integrated dishwasher.
On the second floor there are three bedrooms, each very different in terms of interior design. The master-bedroom features a white and cream colour scheme and an en suite shower room.
The second bedroom is a complete contrast to the master, with an iridescent, petrol blue satin eiderdown sand coloured walls and cream, hessian carpet.
In bedroom three, a brown retro throw and three bold, red floral paintings have dressed this room so that it has more functional feel.
Aside form the mix of three and four bedroom townhouses at Tower View, there is also a rage of beautifully presented two-bedroom apartments.
Joanne Casey, sales director, Miller Homes Limited (Scotland West) says: “The restoration of part of the former hospital building in the initial stages of the development was a triumph. “The challenge then for Miller Homes was to be able to match this with the new build part of the development. However, I think we have exceeded even our own high expectations with the new build townhouses and apartments."
The Kingsborough currently available from £225,000.
Two bedroom Type A apartments are available from £132,000.
