DICKIE Homes has just opened the doors of a fabulous five-bedroom showhome at its flagship development at Picketlaw in Carmunnock on the south side of Glasgow.

The Newburgh is the largest of seven house designs offering spacious family living in this conservation village. The new portfolio of house types has been created specifically for this rural location which strikes a balance between town and country living.

Dickie’s sales and marketing director, Tara Fitzpatrick, said: “Picketlaw offers us the opportunity to introduce a new range of house types to suit the unique location. Dickie’s hallmarks of spacious layouts, generous room sizes and additional space between homes are in evidence here.”

Interior design in the showhome features a sophisticated palette of black, charcoal, cream and silver, and traditional furnishings with a contemporary twist. Large ivory floor tiles run through the hall, kitchen and cloakroom. In the lounge bold wallpaper in striking gunmetal embossed pattern on a black background highlights the fireplace wall, where a black marble hearth has a stone surround. Padded curtains with beaded glass trim and sofas in cream silk soften the look and create a sense of luxurious ambience. Solid birch furniture with a gentle distressed paint finish in ivory grace the lounge and separate dining room. The family room, in contemporary slate and metallic greys, can easily extend the living space outdoors, with French doors to the garden. A fourth public room is an ideal study in glass, chrome and grey furnishings.

Dramatic high gloss black kitchen units give a contemporary edge and contrast well with stainless steel appliances, while a bistro table with two high leather stools creates a relaxed ambiance. A separate laundry room off the kitchen, and cloakroom off the front hall, completes downstairs.

An ivory carpet with black border frames the oak staircase and upper hall, which, along with a bold wallpaper in metallic and black, makes a striking combination. There are en-suite facilities to two bedrooms, in addition to a family bathroom, all tiled with quality ceramics.

Rich, luxurious fabrics on soft furnishings, bedheads and walls create warm and welcoming bedrooms while retaining the chic monochrome scheme throughout. The fifth bedroom, which has been kitted out with a multi-gym, has a dramatic red wall to inspire and motivate a healthy work-out.

The master bedroom is sumptuous in luxurious gold and black fabrics, with a silk canopy above the headboard adding to the sense of a boudoir. One wall houses fitted oak wardrobes and drawers and at one end two doors open into the spacious ensuite, with bath and separate walk-in shower, cappuccinon tiled walls and an Aquavision TV screen above the bath.

All properties at Picketlaw are smart-wired and offer a wide choice of extras from Dickie’s Distinctions. The new designs incorporate the best in energy efficiency, while acoustic midfloor joists provide enhanced soundproofing.

Prices from £498,000. Contact marketing on: 0141 644 5407, Showhome is open from Thursday to Monday, 11am to 5pm.

There are four different styles of four and five-bedroom homes available at Picketlaw.
