One of Scotland’s newest estate agencies, Jacob & Jones, today announced that it will offset its carbon emissions with Carbonfund.org. This makes the Glasgow company, which specialises in providing quality, affordable home-selling services across Glasgow, the first carbon neutral estate agency in Scotland. By supporting renewable energy, reforestation and energy efficiency projects, Carbonfund.org will offset the company’s equivalent amount of carbon emissions.

John Wilson, company director, said: “When we set up Jacob & Jones last year we were determined to be true to our principles and be as environmentally responsible as possible, which is why we do most of our marketing online and our company cars are ‘smart cars’. As well as reducing our carbon emissions in these practical ways, we have signed up with Carbonfund.org so that we can go one step further and offset the emissions that we can’t avoid.

“Global warming affects us all and we can all make a difference by reducing and offsetting our carbon emissions. Hopefully, by being the first estate agency in Scotland to commit to being carbon neutral, we will lead the way and encourage others in the property industry to do the same.”
